"just a gay kind of weekend"

10:45am... wake up at greg's and think, "this is way too early to wake up on a weekend. i didn't think the sun came up before noon..."

1pm... greg, haeran and i eat lunch at the loft. i get the scoop on haeran's life since i haven't seen her in two whole weeks. then she leaves for SF, and greg and i head for long beach pride.

3pm... we arrive at pride, and i'm sad to learn that jennifer hudson and amber are performing the following night. sophie b. "damn i wish i was lover" hawkins is on tap for that night, but we aren't planning on sticking around.

3:30pm... greg and i visit the "leather tent." we watch a strange demonstration on "mummification" where they wrap some guy up in saran wrap and make him wear a hannibal lector mask. what happened to the good ol' days of whips and leather chaps?

4:00pm... greg and i try to guess the amount of lube packages in a jar. we settle on 650. i spend the next 24 hours waiting anxiously by the phone to see if i have won a super basket of lube.

4:50pm... we come to the conclusion that the crowd is 65% lesbian, 35% gay men. we do no like these statistics.

5pm... we leave for pinkberry and get the original with mochi and raspberry. yum!

5:45pm... we arrive at our friend nate's place, where his gathering of gays are getting ready to hit up the festival. i meet a guy named eddie who also went to cerritos high. to my horror, i discover he graduated in 2006!!! he had mr. armstrong, too!

6:30pm... we watch an interview with angelina jolie. greg can't stop fawning over her and i accuse him of getting physically aroused over that bitch. although... she does look sexy when playing with her hair...

7pm... we leave for greg's place and take a well-deserved nap. we love naps!

9pm... wake up and leave for west hollywood.

10pm... we stop for in n' out, and i introduce greg to the wonder that is animal style fries.

10:45pm... we arrive at the abbey and meet up with ernesto and kyle. thankfully, the place isn't too crowded since many of the gays are in long beach for pride. i fill ernesto in on our day:
me: i guess it's just a gay kind of weekend.
ernesto: every weekend is a gay kind of weekend!
me: well, some are gayer than others.

1:30am... we bid the abbey farewell and i get home around 2:30. sadly for greg, he has to still drive back to LA. it was a pretty great day... and don't worry, i have some souvenirs from long beach, in case some of you were wondering...
