great grammy show

the grammys had so many great performances... my favs:

: the gorillaz and madonna... she looked so hot and it was her best leotard yet. :) how fun was that opening number?

: U2 and mary j. blige... from the moment i first heard "one" on mjb's cd, i've been salivating for a live performance. i've envisioned it so many times in my head. i actually paced during the performance and mouthed the lyrics along with them. i know, i'm a dork. mary of course brought her fiery passion to the song, but the sound quality hampered it a bit.

: mariah's medley of "we belong together" and "fly like a bird" was outstanding. loved the gospel-tinged histrionics. wave those chubby arms, girl!

: really, really liked two country acts whose songs i heard for the first time tonight... keith urban and sugarland. i'm now a fan.

: linkin park and jay-z were terrific... loved loved loved the piano segueway into "yesterday."

: couldn't help but smile through jamie fox and kanye west doing "gold digger." that was fun.

ps. i know the newsmakers are already talking about how mariah's comeback was overshadowed by u2, but for the record, she won 3 grammys, they just weren't televised.
